IMD alert: Rainy season begins amid cold, clouds will rain in these areas till February 5! There will be snowfall in hilly areas

Weather Update: Another western disturbance may again affect northwest India from February 3. Due to this weather pattern, there is a possibility of light/moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Thursday and then from 3 to 5 February.


Weather Forecast: It is extremely cold across the country. Meanwhile, rain has also increased the cold in many places. Besides, cold winds have also forced people to stay within four walls. However, the rains will continue. Due to western disturbance, moderate to heavy rain is expected in some parts of North India till February 5. Besides, snowfall is also expected in some different parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

According to meteorologists, this seasonal activity is the result of western disturbance. Due to this, an induced cyclonic accumulation has formed over northwest Rajasthan and surrounding areas.

Another western disturbance may again affect northwest India from February 3. Due to this weather pattern, there is a possibility of light/moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Thursday and then from 3 to 5 February.

Apart from snowfall, there is also a possibility of heavy rain in different parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Thursday.

It will rain in Delhi and UP also

  • On Thursday also, light/moderate widespread rainfall is expected over Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan, which may extend from February 3 to 4.
  • There is also a possibility of hailstorm in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan.
  • Meteorologists have also warned of strong surface winds with a speed of about 30-40 km/hr on Thursday, especially in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.
  • Despite intermittent changes in weather patterns, by February 5, most places over northwest India may experience continuous light to moderate rain or snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning.
