The Met Office has predicted partly cloudy sky with thunderstorms. The maximum temperature in the capital is likely to rise to 44 degrees Celsius at the Safdarjung observatory, the IMD said.

Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Which is the highest temperature so far this year. The Met Office said the relative humidity was recorded at 58 per cent at 8.30 am. The air quality of the city was recorded in the medium category. According to data from SAFAR-India Air Quality Service, the AQI at 9:03 am was 206.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of thunderstorms at a speed of 25 to 60 kilometers per hour in many districts of Bihar from May 24 to 26. At the same time, light and heavy rain will be seen in some parts. There is also a possibility of hail fall. There will also be relief from heat in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan . The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a brief heatwave over all parts of northwest and central India including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. According to the latest update on the official Twitter handle of IMD, heatwave is expected over North-West Madhya Pradesh till Friday, while parts of Rajasthan are expected to experience heatwave conditions in the next 24 hours.

Also, Rampur Ghaziabad, Saharanpur Shamli, Moradabad can also see heavy rain and thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of lightning in 5 districts of Jharkhand. Here, many districts of Maharashtra will see drizzle, Goa will also see a rapid change in weather. At the same time, rain is being seen in Tamil Nadu as well.

Meteorological Department Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning of rain in 15 districts of the state today. As per IMD forecast, a new Low Pressure Area is very likely to form over the Gulf of Martban and adjoining Myanmar today. Under its influence, a low pressure area is very likely to form over the same area during next 24 hours. Apart from this, alert has been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Raigad, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.

Here IMD’s warning of heavy rain will continue on Friday as well. Also , Yellow Alert will continue in Ernakulam , Thrissur and Malappuram , Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha. Coastal warnings for the state will remain in force till May. There is a warning of heavy rain in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Kozhikode on Saturday.

Strong weather is very likely to occur along and off Kerala coast, South TN coast, Gulf of Mannar and Comorin region. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. The IMD said that the intensity of rain will reduce significantly over the south peninsular region from May 21. As heavy rains continued on Thursday, Kerala received over 369% rainfall, including Ernakulam (885%) and Thrissur (450%) 24 were at the top of the hourly rainfall charts.

Ernakulam city and adjoining areas were flooded with water entering houses and traffic disruption at several places. Ernakulam recorded 12 cm of rain while Thrissur received 9 cm of rain.
