IMD Alert: The rainy season is going to start again, heavy rain in these cities for 3 days; know weather update

Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many states from September 2. Let us tell you the latest weather condition.



IMD Rain Alert: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, North Andhra Pradesh, Telangana from September 2. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of sporadic to heavy rains in Andaman-Nicobar Islands and extreme south peninsular India during the next 2-3 days.

Heavy rain forecast

IMD has predicted heavy rain in parts of Puducherry from 30-1 September. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from August 30 to September 1. Apart from this, IMD has also predicted heavy rains for three days in many parts of Andhra Pradesh. The weather department has predicted light to moderate rain on Wednesday and Thursday, while for Saturday and Sunday the department has predicted thunderstorm with lightning in isolated parts of NCAP, Yanam, SCAP and Rayalaseema.

How will be the condition of Odisha?

Out of 30 districts of Odisha, 11 districts have received deficient rainfall while 18 have received normal rainfall. Only one district, Boudh, has recorded 21 per cent excess rainfall during the current monsoon. Talking about Bhubaneswar, here, the situation will change from September 1 and heavy rains and lightning have been predicted in many districts from the first week of September.

Bad situation due to flood in Assam

Meanwhile, the flood situation in Morigaon district of Assam remains serious as around 45,000 people have been affected by the current wave of floods. At least 105 villages in the district have been affected by the floods. More than 3059 hectares of crop area has been submerged due to flood water in Morigaon district.

North East India

Rain has been predicted in Assam and Meghalaya on 2nd and 03rd September. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain at different places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next four days.

South-east India

Light to moderate rain and thundershower with lightning very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal on 03 September and Odisha on 2 September during 30 August to 03 September.

Central India

There is a possibility of heavy rains at different places in South Chhattisgarh on 2 and 3 September.

South India

The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of heavy rain over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 30 August to 1 September and over Kerala during 30-31 August, and over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 02 and 03 September 2023.
