IMD Rainfall Alert, IMD Alert: The weather has changed in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department has informed that due to Western Disturbance, there is an alert of rain, thunderstorm and lightning in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on January 5 and 6.
IMD Rainfall Alert, IMD Alert: The weather will change from today amid the cold in North India. Rain alert has been issued in some states including Punjab. There will be rain in the plains of North India for two days i.e. on January 5 and 6, while the period of rain and snowfall will continue in the hilly states till January 7. There is an alert of heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir on January 4 and 5. At the same time, a warning of dense fog and cold day has been issued for the next two days in North West India and Central India.
Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, there was a cold day situation in Bihar. Dense fog prevailed in Delhi, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, East Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has informed that due to Western Disturbance, there is an alert of rain, thunderstorm and lightning in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on January 5 and 6. Along with this, there will be heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh on January 4 and 5.
The minimum temperature in Northwest India will increase by two to three degrees Celsius for the next four days, but then the temperature will drop by four degrees after that. There is going to be no major change in the minimum temperature in Central India for the next five days. There will also be no major change in the minimum temperature in East India in the next 24 hours, but after that the temperature will increase by two to three degrees Celsius. Cold wave is going to prevail in Telangana and North Karnataka on January 3 and 4. Apart from this, a cold day warning has been issued in eastern Uttar Pradesh on January 4.
Dense fog prevails in Delhi for the second consecutive day
Due to dense fog in the morning in Delhi for the second consecutive day, visibility became zero in many areas. Due to bad weather, 81 trains are running behind schedule, while 15 flights have been diverted, officials said on Saturday. The weather department said visibility was zero at Palam from 11:30 pm on Friday and at Safdarjung from 12:30 am on Friday night. At 7 am, general visibility was zero at Indira Gandhi International Airport due to very dense fog. Runway Visual Range (RVR) on runways was between 100-250 metres. The weather department said zero visibility, dense fog and CAT-III conditions prevailed at the airport since 11:30 pm on Friday night.
