Another Low Pressure Line is extending up to Lakshadweep via Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana and Karnataka. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain is very likely over Northeast India, West Bengal, Sikkim, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Kerala, South Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Effect of heat wave in these states
According to the IMD, the heat wave will end in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and West Rajasthan from May 3. It is likely to be partly cloudy with wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph in the next 24 hours. For days, there will be a heatwave effect over Delhi and adjoining areas, while there is a possibility of dust storm or thundershower at isolated places over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi. There is a possibility of rain in Uttarakhand between May 2 to 5. In some places there is an alert of lightning and hailstorm along with thunderstorm. There is an alert of rain with thunderstorm in the districts of North Bihar. For 48 hours, strong winds of 40 km per hour will prevail over northern parts of Bihar and some parts of southeast. In the midst of strong wind, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the likely areas.
