IMD Weather Update March 23, 2023: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in North-West India along with Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan.
There may be light rain in the capital Delhi on 24 March. Due to cloudy weather for the next one week, the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 30 degree Celsius.
New Delhi: The change in the weather is becoming difficult for the farmers in North and Central India. Wheat crop is standing in the fields and now there is very little time left for harvesting, before that rain and hail have caused a lot of damage. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, this phase is not over yet.
There are chances of hailstorm along with rain in many parts of North India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh. Today i.e. from March 23, the IMD has said that the weather will deteriorate.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan along with North-West India. Talking about the weather system across the country, according to the weather agency Skymet Weather, a trough is moving from South Sri Lanka to interior parts of Northeast Madhya Pradesh, passing through Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Vidarbha at lower levels. A cyclonic circulation is over Haryana and adjoining areas.
How was the weather in the last 24 hours?
Another cyclonic circulation is over Southwest Rajasthan. A trough is extending from Haryana to Bangladesh via Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar and West Bengal. During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers have occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at some places. Light to moderate rain and snow have occurred in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh.
Light to moderate rain has occurred at one or two places over many parts of North and East Uttar Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Interior Odisha, Bihar, Northeast India, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and West Rajasthan.
Light rains occurred over Jammu and Kashmir, Northeast Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, South Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Interior Tamil Nadu. The maximum temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh has been 4 to 5 degrees below normal and about 5 to 7 degrees over the Western Himalayas.
Hail accompanied by rain has badly ruined the Mehu crop. Digging of potatoes has also been affected. The blossoms on the mango trees have fallen. The IMD has predicted rain and hailstorm with thunderstorms due to the impact of another strong Western Disturbance over North-West India from March 23 to March 25.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light rain and thundershowers may occur in parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, East Vidarbha and Telangana. Light to moderate rains may occur over Northeast India, parts of Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Terai areas of Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rain and snow are possible in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
There may be rain and snow in parts of Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu may get one or two moderate rains. Scattered rain and hailstorm with moderate winds are possible over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on March 24.
Delhi weather condition?
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light rain in the capital Delhi on March 24. Due to cloudy weather for the next one week, the maximum temperature is expected to remain around 30 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department said that 10 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since the beginning of this week. In the past days, the maximum temperature is being recorded between 25 degree to 28 degree Celsius, which is 3 to 5 degree Celsius less than normal.

It hardly rains in the country’s financial capital Mumbai in the month of March, which is happening this time.
