Heavy snowfall has started once again in the mountains. An alert of heavy snowfall and rain has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department says that this is the effect of western disturbance which will become completely active from February 19. Its effect will be seen in the plains also. Due to snowfall in the mountains, its effect will be seen in the plains as well. At the same time, the weather may change again in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. According to Skymet Weather, there may be rain and thundershowers in Delhi NCR. The effect of western disturbance may last till 22 February.
The Meteorological Department says that there may be rain with strong winds in UP and Haryana in the next two days. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of hailstorm. There is a possibility of heavy snowfall in the Himalayan areas. On Sunday too, there was heavy snowfall in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the Srinagar-Leh highway was closed. After heavy snowfall, a thick sheet of snow was seen in Bandipora also.
The Meteorological Department says that on Monday, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in Western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana and Punjab. Similar weather may prevail in eastern Uttar Pradesh from 20 to 22 February. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on February 19. At many places, wind can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Hailstorm may also occur in North Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. Apart from this, rain is also expected in many areas of Bihar, Meghalaya and West Bengal.
Heavy snowfall forecast
The Meteorological Department says that there may be heavy snowfall in Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand, Himachal for the next four days. Snowfall has started from Saturday night itself which may continue till 22 February. There may be snowfall in Jammu division of Uttarakhand from Monday. The weather is changing due to western disturbance which will continue for four days.
