Delhi NCR Weather Update 2 May 2023: The month of April has passed without any cyclonic storm in the sea. This is the fourth consecutive April passed without a storm. Earlier in April, the last severe cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ came. However, now there is more possibility of cyclonic storms in the month of May as compared to April. A weak area of convection is developing over equatorial region off Sri Lanka during the second week of May. The next storm in the Indian Ocean, whenever it forms, will be named ‘Mocha’ which is pronounced ‘mokha’.
It is raining in these states
If we talk about the current weather, then an area of cyclonic winds (Weather Forecast Today 2 May 2023) has formed over the northern parts of Pakistan and adjoining parts of western Rajasthan. A similar pattern is also formed over West Uttar Pradesh and South Chhattisgarh. Due to this, light to moderate rains have occurred over Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Telangana, parts of Vidarbha, South Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the last 24 hours. Light rain has also occurred at many places in West Rajasthan, Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Talking about the next 24 hours, light rain is possible at one or two places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, rest of Northeast India, Marathwada and Rajasthan and Gujarat (Weather Forecast Today 2 May 2023). Light rain may occur over parts of Kerala, Interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Delhi NCR.
There is a possibility of rain in these states as well.
Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana and Haryana may also receive heavy rain at one or two places (Weather Forecast Today 2 May 2023). Hailstorm is possible at some places in Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
