IMD Alert: The cyclone formed over Haryana is slowly moving towards the south. However, along with this another Cyclonic Circulation is going to be created. Along with this, there are chances of heavy rain in many states of the country. The weather from Delhi to UP will be Bihar. Snowfall will continue on the mountains along with cold wave and cold. There is a possibility of rain in the plains also.
According to the Meteorological Department’s update (IMD Weather Update), it will remain in Delhi today while light drizzle can also be seen. The temperature will decrease. The minimum temperature is expected to drop to 10 degrees Celsius. There will also be relief from pollution in the capital. Severe cold is being seen in Uttar Pradesh due to the icy winds coming from North India.
IMD Weather Update: Visibility very low
Due to which holiday has been declared in schools in many districts of UP. Changes have also been made in timings in many schools. Dense fog has been reported. Visibility seems to be very low. The minimum temperature is being recorded at 15 degrees while the maximum temperature is 30 degrees Celsius.
Forecast of very heavy rain
Due to the cyclone moving towards the south, there is a possibility of rain in the southern states today. Strong thunderstorms and rain along with hailstorm can be seen. Moderate to heavy rain is expected in some parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and light to moderate rain in Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep along with very heavy rain at one or two places. Moderate rain has also been predicted in Telangana, Andaman Nicobar, Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra.
Snowfall period
Talking about Parvati states, snowfall will continue in Jammu and Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand and Himachal also. Snowfall is going to continue in the high altitude areas while there is a possibility of rain in the plains and areas.
IMD Weather Update: Weather System
- Another weak Western Disturbance is going to be active over the Western Himalayas and it is likely to form from January 12.
- A cyclonic circulation has formed over the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean.
- Another cyclonic circulation is off the Kerala coast which is 1.5 km above sea level.
Weather Update: Rain, storm in these states
There is a possibility of light-moderate rain in southern Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Cold wave alert has been issued in some areas of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, while in some places of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Jammu Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim. Very dense fog may occur.
