Light to moderate rains are expected to continue in eastern UP till August 27. Yellow-orange alert for rain has been issued in 3 divisions and 16 districts in Madhya Pradesh today. In Chhattisgarh, heavy rain is expected in more than a dozen districts. Light rain may occur with it.
IMD Alert Today: Due to different weather systems and monsoon, frequent changes are being seen in the weather across the country, at some places heavy rains and at some places drizzle with cool winds have made the weather pleasant. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh from August 21 to 24. Along with Rajasthan, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms with heavy rains for the next three days in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram.

According to the IMD Meteorological Department, it will be cloudy in Delhi on Monday and there may be drizzle in some places. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain on 22 August. On August 22 and 23, the maximum temperature can be 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain dry from August 24 to 26. Light to moderate rain is expected to continue till August 27 in western and eastern UP. Yellow-orange alert for rain has been issued in 3 divisions and 16 districts in Madhya Pradesh today. There may be light rain with lightning in many areas including Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jhalawar, Pali in Rajasthan. In Himachal Pradesh, a yellow alert has been issued for two days of thunderstorm and rain across the state. There is a possibility of flash flood in the same areas like Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Sirmaur, Bilaspur etc. The weather is expected to remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours. On August 21, an alert has also been issued for heavy rains in many districts of western UP. Heavy rain with lightning is likely in Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly and surrounding areas. There is a possibility of rain in many states including Haryana on August 22.
Light to moderate rain warning in these states today
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh including Bihar today. Light to moderate rain at a few places with isolated heavy falls over Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan during next 24 hours Heavy rain warnings continue. Light to moderate rains are likely over East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka and East Gujarat including parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Marathwada, Telangana, Konkan and Goa. Apart from Jharkhand, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, light rain is expected at some places in North Punjab, North Haryana.
Warning issued till August 27 in these states
- Light to very heavy rain at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and East UP on August 24, West UP on August 23 and East Rajasthan on August 22.
- Heavy rain till August 22 in Madhya Pradesh and till August 24 in Chhattisgarh.
- Light rain over Odisha on 23rd and 24th August, over West Bengal on 24th August and over West Bengal for next 5 days.
- Today, warnings of thunder and lightning have been issued in 22 districts of Bihar. There is a forecast of light rain with cloudy sky, but there is a possibility of very heavy rain in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul and Araria districts on Tuesday, whereas, normal rain is expected in the rest of the districts.
- Light rain may occur over Telangana, Marathwada, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Kerala.
- Heavy rains on 24 August in Bihar, Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
