IMD Weather Updates 18 April: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in many states of the country in the coming days. There is a possibility of heavy fluctuations in seasonal activities in Northeast India, East India, Southern Peninsula and Western Himalayan region. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is going to be very unstable for the next few days due to active cyclonic circulation and trough lines in different parts.

The IMD has said in its forecast that heavy rains and strong winds may occur in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh from 18 to 23 April. Apart from this, heavy rainfall is expected in West Bengal on 18 April. Bihar is also warned of winds blowing at a speed of 50-70 km/h on April 18.

Talking about South India, rain with lightning is forecast in Kerala and Mahe for the next 7 days. In North Karnataka, the wind speed may reach 70 km/h with strong storm on April 18. The Meteorological Department says that hailstorms and strong winds are likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 18 and 19. Dusty winds are likely in western parts of Rajasthan on April 18-19.

Heatwave conditions are likely to persist in parts of Rajasthan on April 18. Hot and humid weather may persist in Marathwada and Central Maharashtra from April 18 to 21. In Gujarat, the temperature may fall in the next 3 days and then gradually increase.

Weather will remain bad in Uttarakhand too

In view of the bad weather in Uttarakhand, the State Disaster Management Department has issued an alert in the state for the coming three days. During this time, the officials have been advised to be cautious. According to the letter issued by the State Disaster Management Authority, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of bad weather from 18 to 20 April. During this time, forecast of hailstorm, rain with strong winds has been issued in various districts of the state. During this time, hailstorm from the Terai to the mountains along with strong winds of 30 to 70 km per hour is expected.

Alert of heavy rain in UP

Weather will change once again in UP. Storm speed will be seen in many districts. Rain is expected for three days from April 18. Alert has also been issued regarding hailstorm in five districts. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of storm at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers in Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Amethi, Azamgarh, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Gonda, Barabanki. Apart from this, an alert has also been issued regarding rain for three days in these districts. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in five districts. Due to this, a drop in day and night temperatures can be recorded.
