IMD Issued Alert: Big news! Heatwave alert in 9 states, relief to Delhi, know new weather update

Today Weather: The Meteorological Department has predicted heatwave in many states of North India for the next four days. However, relief can be found in Delhi and its adjoining areas.


Weather Update: With the beginning of the second fortnight of April, the heat has started showing its torture in most parts of the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding the scorching heat in Bengal, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. Along with this, the forecast of heat wave has been expressed in Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana on Monday (April 17), which may continue on Tuesday as well. Meanwhile, a fresh Western Disturbance is active, due to which it will rain in the Western Himalayas and the surrounding plains.

The Meteorological Department said that a western disturbance active in the western Himalayan region will give relief from the heat in the plains of northwest India from Tuesday. There is a possibility of scattered rains between April 18-20 in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan.

There is a possibility of heavy rains in the Himalayan region of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next two days. There may be hailstorm in Himachal, Uttarakhand and Punjab.

Temperature will rise

According to the Meteorological Department, after some relief in some areas from the rain, the temperature will rise again. On Monday (April 17), the temperature remained between 40-42 degree Celsius in areas of northwest, central and east India.

In the next three days, the temperature of North West India will increase by 2-3 degrees during the next three days. There is a possibility of heatwave in western Uttar Pradesh on April 18 and in eastern Uttar Pradesh on April 18-19. In central India also, the temperature can go up by 2-3 degrees.

Heatwave alert in Jharkhand

The Meteorological Department on Monday issued an alert for the first heat wave of the season for two days from Tuesday for 11 districts of Jharkhand. In some districts of the state, the mercury can cross 44 degrees in two days. Relief is expected after April 20.

Summer season in Bihar

Severe heat and heatwave is troubling Bihar. According to the Patna Meteorological Center, on April 17, the maximum temperature was recorded above 40 degrees at most places in the state. Severe heat wave was declared in East Champaran, Khagaria and Banka, while heat wave conditions prevailed in 11 districts including Patna, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Supaul, Bhagalpur, Sheikhpura, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Aurangabad, Katihar, Nawada and Nalanda.

Heat wave in Bengal too

Heat wave warning has been issued for 18 districts of Bengal. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she had never seen such heat in April. People have been advised to stay indoors between noon and 4 pm.
