IMD Weather Update: Cyclonic storm ‘Tej’ is moving rapidly towards the north-west, due to which the Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for fishermen and they have been asked not to venture into the Arabian Sea.
Weather Update Today: Cold has started in entire North India including the capital Delhi. Along with this, cold is going to increase further in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, fog is going to increase in Delhi and Lucknow for the next five days. Apart from this, possibility of rain has also been expressed in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, UP. Apart from this, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
How will the weather be in Delhi today?
The sky will be clear in Delhi today i.e. Tuesday (24 October) and the maximum temperature is likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Monday was 17.2 degrees Celsius, which is the normal temperature of this season. Giving information, the Meteorological Department said that the air quality in the city was recorded in ‘poor’ category on Monday. The air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 292 at 12 noon in the city.
It is known that AQI between zero and 50 is ‘good’, between 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, between 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, between 201 and 300 ‘bad’, between 301 and 400 ‘very bad’ and Between 401 and 500 is considered ‘severe’.
Advisory issued regarding cyclonic storm ‘Tej’
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light to moderate rain in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura on October 24 and 25 and an alert of heavy rain has been issued at some places. Apart from this, light to moderate rain has been expected at some places in the coastal districts of Odisha and West Bengal. There is a possibility of rain in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand today.
On the other hand, cyclonic storm ‘Tej’ is moving towards north-west, regarding which advisory has been issued for fishermen. IMD has issued a warning saying that they should not go into the South-West Arabian Sea till October 25 and into the West Central Arabian Sea till the night of October 25.
