IMD Rainfall Alert: Strong winds with a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour will also blow in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh on February 1. Apart from this, there is also warning of rain and hail in many states.


IMD Rainfall Alert: It rained in many states including UP, Delhi, Rajasthan, due to which a slight drop in the minimum temperature is being recorded. The Meteorological Department has said that rain is going to continue in North-West India during the next 24 hours. At the same time, a new rainy season is going to start again between February 3 and February 5, due to which North-West India will again be affected. Minimum temperatures of 9-12 degrees Celsius are being recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and North Rajasthan. Today the minimum temperature in Fursatganj in eastern UP reached one degree Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has said that there will be light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on February 1 to 3 and February 5. Whereas, rain will be recorded today in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, UP, East Rajasthan. Apart from this, it is going to rain in these states on February 3 and 4 also. Hail is going to fall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh on February 1, Western Rajasthan on February 3 and Eastern Rajasthan on February 4.

The Meteorological Department has said that there will be light to moderate rain in Arunachal Pradesh for the next five days, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura on February 1 and 2. There is an alert of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh today and tomorrow.

Snowfall in Vaishnodevi temple, rain in Jammu

The upper reaches of Jammu region, including the Mata Vaishno Devi temple located on the Trikuta hills in Reasi district, received snowfall on Thursday morning. Officials said that moderate to light rain has been recorded in the plains of Jammu region. He said, “There has been snowfall in and around the building of Mata Vaishnodevi. Trikuta hill area remained covered with snow this morning.” He said that there was snowfall in Bhairon valley and Himkoti in Trikuta hills and the road leading to the temple also. Despite this, there was no disruption in the pilgrimage, hundreds of pilgrims left from Katra base camp this morning. Apart from Vaishno Devi, snowfall also occurred on the hills of Kishtwar, Doda, Reasi, Ramban, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch including Mughal Road.

Heavy rain in Punjab, Haryana, minimum temperature still above normal

It rained in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday but despite this the minimum temperature remained above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, in Punjab it rained at other places including Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Faridkot and Mohali, while in Haryana it lashed Ambala, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, Bhiwani. Hail also fell along with rain in Moga district of Punjab. Amritsar in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees above the season’s average, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a minimum temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius. Pathankot, Bathinda, Gurdaspur and Faridkot recorded minimum temperatures of 10.4 degrees Celsius, 11.2 degrees, 10.3 degrees and 10.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
