According to the Meteorological Department, there is an alert of thunderstorm and heavy rain in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, South Rajasthan tomorrow and the day after tomorrow (26 and 27 November). Talking about the last 24 hours, heavy rain has been recorded in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is going to be light to moderate rain in Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra on 25-27 November, Marathwada on 25-28 November, Gujarat on 25 and 26 November. There is also an alert of heavy rain in some areas. Apart from this, storm can also increase the problems of the people. There is going to be heavy rain in Southern Rajasthan, North Central Maharashtra on 26th November, Southwest Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada on 26th and 27th November, Eastern Madhya Pradesh on 27th November.
Apart from this, if we talk about western Himalayan regions and plains of North India, there will be light rain between 26 to 28 November. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on November 27. According to IMD, Andaman and Nicobar Islands will receive light to moderate rain on November 26 and 27. At the same time, cold is also increasing in many states. The Meteorological Department says that in North-West India, West and Central India, a decrease of two to four degrees Celsius may be recorded in the minimum temperature after November 28. This means that the cold is going to increase in the coming days in the areas of North India.
Air quality in Delhi likely to remain in severe category
At the same time, the air quality in the national capital remained in the category of ‘severe’ on Saturday morning and if the average air quality index remains above 400 by the end of the day, then it will be the 11th day of ‘severe’ air quality in Delhi in November. Environment monitoring agencies are hopeful that due to western disturbance, meteorological conditions may improve from Sunday.
In November last year, the air quality in Delhi remained in the severe category for three days, while in November 2021 this situation remained in the severe category for 12 days. November witnessed the highest number of days in 2021 when air quality remained in the “severe” category since the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) started tracking the air quality index. According to CPCB data, air quality was in the “severe” category for nine days in November 2020, seven days in 2019, five days in 2018, seven days in 2017, 10 days in 2016 and six days in 2015.
