IMD Rain Alert: According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain, hailstorm and strong thunderstorms in different parts of the country for the next few days. Let’s know, how is the weather going to be today?
IMD Rain Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain, hailstorm and strong thunderstorms in different parts of the country for the next few days. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Northeast and East India for the next seven days, while light to moderate rain may occur in the plains of North India, Central India and adjoining East India from 12 to 14 April.
Where will it rain heavily
- Heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Kerala and Mahe today.
- Heavy rains may also occur in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh on 12 April.
- Heavy rainfall is also forecast in Assam and Meghalaya between 12 and 15 April.
Hailstorm warning
- There is a possibility of hailstorm in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Chhattisgarh.
- Hailstorms are possible in Uttarakhand and eastern Madhya Pradesh today.
- Hailstorm warning has also been issued in Uttar Pradesh on 12 April.
Strong storm and thunderstorms
- Strong winds with a speed of 50-60 km/hr are likely in eastern Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and eastern Rajasthan.
- Strong winds with thunderstorms and hailstorms are also likely in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, western Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka.
- Strong storm warning has also been issued in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Odisha.
Dust storm and hot-humid weather
- There is a possibility of dust storms in Rajasthan on 11 and 12 April.
- Hot and humid weather may prevail in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Warning for fishermen
According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds of 35 to 45 km/h may blow in the Golf of Mannar and Comorin area adjacent to the Tamil Nadu coast, which can sometimes reach up to 55 km/h. Fishermen have been advised not to go into the sea in these areas.
