IMD Rain Alert : Alert of heavy rain, lightning and landslides in these 15 states for the next 72 hours… Know IMD’s forecast

IMD Alert: Rain activity is being seen in most of the states of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain in the capital New Delhi today. Rain activity is going to continue throughout the week.

There will be significant changes in the weather from Uttar Pradesh to Uttarakhand. Warning of heavy rain has been issued in more than 30 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain activity will be seen every day in Delhi from Thursday to Sunday. A drop of 2 to 3% in temperature will be recorded while rain activity is going to continue in Uttarakhand and Himachal also. Light rain may be seen in some areas of Himachal, while forecast of heavy rain has been issued in more than 10 districts of Uttarakhand.

Red alert issued for heavy rain in five states

Heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in Orissa, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Telangana, while moderate rain has been forecast in Marathwada including East Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Lakshadweep, Andaman Nicobar Islands. Rain may be seen.

Warning of thunder and lightning

A warning of thunderstorms including lightning has also been issued in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Lakshadweep, Andaman Nicobar Islands.

There is a camp of dark clouds in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It has started raining with strong winds. With the onset of rain, a warning of thunderstorm has been issued once again. Heavy rain activity will be seen in three areas of Jharkhand. The rainy season will continue in these areas till September 25.

A warning of heavy rain has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Orissa. Earlier, 19 cm rainfall has been recorded in Amba Dola. At the same time, 9 cm rainfall has been recorded in Masturi of Chhattisgarh. Rain activity will also be seen in Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Due to which the possibility of lightning strikes has increased in these areas. Highest rainfall has been recorded in Orissa. During 24 hours, 19 cm rainfall has been recorded in Amba Dola, 11 cm in Samba, 10 cm in Dimapur and 11 cm in Dipu.

Heavy rain warning in Kolkata

A warning of heavy rain has been issued in Kolkata. The capital of West Bengal and surrounding areas will see rain till September 17. Continuous rain activity will continue in Mumbai from 14 to 19 September. In Vidarbha too, rain activity is going to continue till September 20.

Weather system

  • The monsoon line is reaching the Bay of West Bengal through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal. The same situation is likely to persist in the next 5 days.
  • A cyclonic circulation is present over upper parts of South Uttar Pradesh. Due to which a low pressure area remains over West Central Bay of Bengal. An east-west line is passing ahead. Due to which heavy rains are expected as Orissa moves towards Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
  • Guru Bhairav: There is a possibility of heavy rain in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand on Friday.
  • In Maharashtra and Marathwada, rain activity along with thunderstorms will be seen on Saturday and Sunday.

Heavy rain in these areas

  • From 14 to 16 September in Uttarakhand from 15 to 16 September
  • There is a possibility of widespread rain in South West Uttar Pradesh, South East Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on September 15.
  • Widespread rains and storms may occur over Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan-Goa, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh.
  • Along with this, heavy rain will also be seen in Jharkhand and Telangana on 14th and 15th September.
  • Heavy rain alert has also been issued in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Motipura from 14 to 17 September.
  • Widespread rain and storm may occur over Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal and Coastal Karnataka.
  • Fairly widespread rainfall may occur over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana, Kerala-Mahe and Lakshadweep.
