IMD Rain Alert: The weather has started changing in many parts of the country. From Northeast India to the northwestern states, rain, thunderstorm and hailstorm are expected in the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, an upper air cyclonic circulation is active over northeastern Bangladesh and adjoining areas, while another cyclone remains over Assam. Along with this, a trough is also formed from West Vidarbha to the Gulf of Mannar, due to which an alert of rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds has been issued in many states of India for the next five days.

According to the latest update released by IMD, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to witness heavy rains with winds of 50-70 kmph on 28 and 29 April. So let’s know about the latest updates related to today’s weather…

Thunderstorm alert till 30 April

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 28 April. At the same time, many parts of eastern India like eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and eastern Uttar Pradesh may also receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms for the next 3 days. There are also chances of thunderstorms in Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand from 28 to 30 April. Hailstorms may also occur at some places in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

There will be rain in these states on May 3

The IMD also says that there is a danger of heavy rain in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand from April 28 to May 1. The weather will also remain active in South India. There will be a period of rain and strong winds with thunderstorms in many areas of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Hailstorms are also expected in North Interior Karnataka on April 30 and May 1. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala and Mahe from 28 to 30 April.

On the other hand, weather changes can be seen with rain and strong winds in the western Himalayan region and the plains of North-West India between April 30 and May 3.

Temperature fluctuations will continue

In North-West India, the temperature will increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius for the next three days, after which there will be a drop. In Central India, the temperature will fall for the next one day, then there will be an increase of two to three degrees. Temperatures in eastern India may drop by 3-5 degrees for the next two days. Temperatures will increase gradually in Maharashtra and Gujarat. No major change in South India, but there may be a slight drop again. Temperatures are expected to remain almost stable in the rest of the country.

Heat wave warnings also issued

According to the Meteorological Department, a heat wave warning has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh from April 28 to May 1. At the same time, hot and humid weather will prevail in some parts of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Marathwada. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and common people to remain alert and keep an eye on the latest weather information.
