A new western disturbance is going to be active

A new western disturbance is going to be active in the western Himalayan regions from 16 April. The effect of the western disturbance that was active a few days ago is still visible in many states. Many states of North India, North Eastern India and Eastern India witnessed rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Now the western disturbance that is getting active from 16 April is also a powerful western disturbance and is likely to have a wide impact.

Thunderstorms and rain with lightning till 20 April

The mild effect of the new western disturbance will be visible from 16 and 17 April. Due to this, there is a possibility of sporadic rain in Jammu and Kashmir. According to Skymet Weather, there will be a sharp increase in both speed and intensity between 18 and 20 April. Weather activity will be strong on 19 April. During this time, thunderstorms can occur with lightning. Also, light to moderate and sometimes heavy rains are expected in many areas. From April 21, this disturbance will gradually start calming down.

Widespread effect will be seen in three states

The new western disturbance will have a wide effect in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rains can occur in Uttarakhand due to this. Apart from this, its effect can also be seen in Delhi, UP, western Rajasthan. Its effect will be seen most in the hilly areas. There is a possibility of bad weather in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh from 18 to 20 April. During this time, incidents like blockage on roads, landslides, hailstorms and falling of stones from rocky slopes can occur.

Not much effect on the plains

With this new western disturbance, an induced cyclonic circulation can also become active in the plains. However, its effect will not be very widespread. There will be rain only in the Terai areas, that too for a day or two. However, this effect can be quite intense in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. There will also be a minor effect in Uttarakhand.
