IMD Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about different weather conditions across the country for the next five days (April 16 to 20). While on the one hand there is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rains in many parts of the country, on the other hand, severe heatwaves and hot nights in states like Rajasthan and Gujarat have raised concerns. The Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that a total of five cyclonic circulations are active in different parts of the country. Its center is in West Rajasthan, South Madhya Pradesh, Gulf of Mannar, Bay of Bengal adjoining Tamil Nadu and Western Assam.

Apart from this, two trough lines are extending from South Madhya Pradesh to Gangetic West Bengal and South Interior Karnataka, due to which widespread weather disturbances are being seen.

Rain and thunderstorm alert

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of lightning along with light to heavy rain in Odisha, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. During this time, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 50-60 km / h. There is a possibility of heavy rain and hailstorm in Odisha on 16 April. On April 17, stormy winds may blow in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal adjoining the Ganges. Apart from this, rain and strong winds may blow in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha on April 16.

Talking about South India, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala will receive rain with lightning and thunder for the next five days. The speed of the winds can be 40-50 km / h.

Heavy snowfall in Himalayan region due to entry of Western Disturbance

The Meteorological Department has said in its forecast that a strong Western Disturbance will be active in the Western Himalayan regions (Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand) between 16 and 20 April. Heavy rain, hailstorm and 40-50 km/hr winds are expected on 18–19 April. The effect of rain and dust storm can also be seen in plain areas like Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Severe heat and heat wave havoc

The Meteorological Department says that heat wave conditions can take a severe form in West Rajasthan from 16–18 April. Heat wave will affect East Rajasthan and Gujarat till 18 April. Humid conditions can be created in Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. Warning of hot nights has also been issued in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
