IMD Rain Alert: Heavy rain warning in these states for so many days, possibility of hailstorm and thunderstorm

IMD Rain Alert: An alert has been issued for light to moderate rain after the thunderstorm in some other states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, heat wave has been predicted in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain

IMD Rain Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heat wave, heat wave and torrential rain in different states of the country. Rain warning has been issued in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas. Apart from this, an alert has been issued for light to moderate rain after thunderstorms in some other states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, heat wave has been predicted in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. According to the IMD, heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Kerala, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh next week. Heavy rains are also expected in Assam and Meghalaya during the next four days.

There will be hailstorm at one or two places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and East Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, strong winds at the speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour will blow in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan.

Talking about South India, light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds up to 40 kmph are expected over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana and Karnataka during the next 2 to 3 days.

IMD forecast

  • The Meteorological Department has warned that hailstorm may occur again in Jharkhand on April 15. Along with this, thunderstorms and moderate rain may also occur.
  • The sky will be partly cloudy in most parts of Delhi-NCR on 13-14 April. There is no possibility of heat wave in Delhi till 15 April.
  • IMD said that heat wave is likely at some places in western Rajasthan on 14 and 15 April. While severe heat wave is likely at some places between 16 and 18 April. At the same time, heat wave is likely at some places in Gujarat between 15 and 17 April.
  • Thunderstorms and strong winds have been predicted in the Gangetic West Bengal. Similar weather is expected in some parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
  • IMD further said that Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh may also face heat wave conditions from 16 to 18 April. While on April 18, severe heat wave may occur in some parts of East Rajasthan.
  • Severe heat to extreme heat conditions are expected in many areas of western Rajasthan from April 16 to 18. People are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
  • Scattered to light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds (40-50 kmph) are expected over Northeast and adjoining East India during the next 7 days.
  • There is a possibility of hailstorm at some places in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on 14 April. Whereas on 15 April hailstorm may occur at some places in Jharkhand.
