IMD Weather Forecast: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of very bad weather in many parts of the country for the next few days. From North India to South and Northeast, thunderstorms, hailstorms, heavy rains and heat wave can be seen. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in different parts of the country between April 30 and May 4.
Possibility of strong thunderstorms
According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rain may occur with strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph in some areas of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka. At the same time, winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour in many states including Haryana, Delhi, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Nagaland, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
Heavy rain and hailstorm alert
According to the India Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya from April 30 to May 1. Apart from this, torrential rains can also occur in Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. A warning of widespread rain, thunderstorms and strong winds has been issued in Northeast India for the next 7 days. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of hailstorm in some places in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha.
Western disturbance will affect North India
According to the IMD, due to the effect of a fresh and active western disturbance from May 2, a series of thunderstorms, rain and strong winds may start in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between April 30 and May 4. Along with this, thunderstorms and rain are also expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Dust storm warning
According to the Meteorological Department, dust storms are likely in eastern Uttar Pradesh on April 30, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on May 1, while dust storms are likely in Rajasthan from May 1 to 5.
Weather will also change in South India
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms and strong winds may occur in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Puducherry for the next 7 days. Stormy winds are likely to blow at a speed of 50-60 km per hour in North Interior Karnataka on May 2 and 3.
No relief from heat and humidity
According to the Meteorological Department, people will not get relief from heat and humidity in the coastal areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Rayalaseema. At the same time, heatwave conditions will continue in western Rajasthan, while some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan and Kutch-Saurashtra will also be affected by the heatwave.
