IMD Weather Update: Winter has started showing its effect in Delhi-NCR. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius at 5:30 am today. It has been cloudy since morning and light rain also occurred. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain during the day today as well. This rain can definitely provide some relief from the increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR, but the effect of cold is likely to increase. After this, dense fog will prevail tomorrow i.e. on 24 December. Possibility of rain from 26 to 28 December
If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, there is a possibility of dense fog in Delhi on 24 and 25 December. At the same time, the process of rain will start again from 26 December. According to the IMD, on December 26, there may be partly cloudy sky with light showers. On December 27, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers. There is also a possibility of rain on December 28.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 403 at 7:30 am on Monday, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. The AQI level has reached dangerous levels in many areas of Delhi, including Wazirpur (464), Ashok Vihar (460), Mundka (446), Burari Crossing (445) and Anand Vihar (443). Apart from this, the air quality in Dwarka-Sector 8 (393) and Najafgarh (372) remained slightly below the ‘severe’ limit.
