Many people have lost their jobs during the Corona period. Many people have also had to withdraw their Provident Fund (PF) money. But there are some people who do not have specific information about their PF account.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made some changes in the rules for its account holders. You should understand this change carefully because it will have a direct impact on you.

Employer Contribution Can Stop

According to the new rule of EPFO, linking of PF account with Aadhaar card is mandatory for every account holder. This rule will come into effect from September 1, 2021. Earlier it was being implemented from June 1, but now its deadline has increased. That is, you have to link your PF account with Aadhar card by August 31. If your account is not linked with Aadhaar, then the employer contribution coming to the PF account can be stopped. In such a situation, Electronic Challan and Return (ECR) will not be filled. EPFO had taken the decision to link Aadhaar under Social Security Code 2020.

You can link your account with Aadhaar by visiting the official website of EPFO. This is the way-

EPF subscribers can take advantage of Covid Advance

It is known that subscribers can take advantage of the non-refundable Kovid Advance for the second time. In March 2020 also, the government had given advance facility to EPF subscribers under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY). In May, the Labor Ministry allowed withdrawal of second non-refundable Kovid-19 advance, giving relief to its subscribers from the second wave of the epidemic in the country. Under this, you can withdraw 75 percent of the amount deposited in your PF account or an amount equal to three months’ salary (basic salary and dearness allowance) (whichever is less).
