Income Tax Department: The Income Tax Department has issued a reminder to the taxpayers whose cases are under investigation. The tax department has asked the taxpayers to comply with the notice issued to them by 31 March 2022. Against those taxpayers who fail to respond to the notice of the Income Tax Department within the stipulated time frame, the department will make the most accurate assessment as per the available documents.
Issuing this reminder from its official Twitter handle, the Income Tax Department said, “The taxpayers whose cases are under investigation, they should ensure compliance of the notice by 31.03.2022. Taking the best decision will be taken.

According to tax experts, Income Tax Reminder is for those taxpayers who have filed income tax returns and whose cases are under investigation and the department has also issued notices to them. Taxpayers should check on the Income Tax compliance portal that no notice has been issued against them by the department. If they have received any such income tax notice, then they should reply to this notice by 31st March 2022, otherwise the department will make the best tax assessment based on the available documents.
If a taxpayer fails to meet the income tax compliance deadline, the taxpayer may have to pay additional tax or the tax refund received may be deducted.
