What was in the circular of CBDT

CBDT’s circular F. No. 370142/14/22-TPL dated March 30, 2022, every person who has been allotted PAN as on July 1, 2017 and is eligible to obtain an Aadhaar number, shall be required to link PAN with Aadhaar on or before March 31, 2022. Linking is required. Tax payers who do not do this will have to pay Rs 500 as fee for linking Aadhaar and PAN. Along with this, those who link their Aadhaar card with PAN after June 30, 2022, will have to pay Rs 1000 as fees.
