The Income Tax Department has asked taxpayers to verify their returns as soon as possible. If he does not do so, he may have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000. The last date for filing returns without any penalty was July 31, 2023. If any taxpayers have not yet filed Income Tax Return, then they can file the return till December 31, 2023.
After filing the return of income tax, taxpayers also have to verify the return. If he does not do this, then his return may also be invalid. Apart from this, he can also face many other problems. The return has to be verified within 30 days of filing the return. Any taxpayers can verify the return in many ways.

The Income Tax Department is continuously issuing alerts for the taxpayer to verify the return (ITR Verification) as soon as possible. The department said that if a taxpayer does not verify the return, he will have to pay late fees as per the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Ways to verify ITR
- You can verify the return by visiting the official website of the Income Tax Department (https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/eVerifyReturn-bl).
- You can also verify the return through your registered mobile number and OTP.
- The return can also be verified through EVC generated from the bank account.
- Taxpayers can also verify ITR through their demat account.
- Taxpayers can also verify the return through net banking.
