The Income Tax Department has issued refunds of more than Rs 70,120 crore till September 6 this year. The Income Tax Department gave this information on Twitter on Sunday. Out of this, personal income tax refund of Rs 16,753 crore is involved in over 24.70 lakh cases and corporate tax refund of Rs 53,367 crore in 1.38 lakh cases.
“The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued refunds of more than Rs 70,120 crore to over 26.09 lakh taxpayers during April 1, 2021 to September 6, 2021,” the Income Tax Department said.

Your refund has not come because of this
If you have not received the refund money, then the main reason for this will be the mismatch of the account. Adjustment as per the department, your money will also be stuck due to defect. Let us tell you that under section 245, if your account does not match, then you will not get the money credited.
What to do in case the refund is not received
According to the Income Tax Department, the taxpayers should reply online at the earliest so that refund can be issued to them at the earliest. The department has said in its statement that the processing of ITR-1 and ITR-4 for the assessment year 2021-22 has also been started.
