The Income Tax Department has prepared a list of more than 2000 senior officials of Bihar-Jharkhand who are involved in tax evasion. A large-scale action campaign will be launched against these officers before March 2025. This entire mission will be carried out under Operation Sangam. Apart from central and state government government employees and PSU personnel, many senior officials are also included among the identified people.
The investigation wing of the Income Tax Department Patna has also mapped the tax evasion of every trade. This type of tax evaders have been mapped. The investigation team of the Income Tax Department has analyzed the data of more than two thousand people of Bihar-Jharkhand.

It has come to light that people are taking refunds from the Income Tax Department by making false claims. Apart from this, making insurance claims in the absence of parents, taking claims and exemptions in the name of children without higher education. Such people have been identified.
Major action will be taken against them
The identified people include central and state government employees, PSU personnel and many senior officials. A plan is being made to launch a large-scale action campaign against all of them before March 2025. This entire mission will be carried out under ‘Operation Sangam’.
Many senior officials are also included in this. This includes those who are not paying any tax and are habitual income tax offenders. Apart from this, the investigation department has also mapped the salaried employees of the state and central government and PSUs who claim refunds on the basis of false claims.

In these efforts, the department has got information about tax practitioners who helped in filing returns on fake refund claims and the list includes more than 2000 such cases from Bihar Jharkhand, including top officials.
