Income tax officer can be made in these 2 ways

To become an Income Tax Officer, candidates can apply for 2 types of examinations. The first exam is UPSC i.e. Civil Services Exam and the second exam is SSC CGL. In this, the candidate will have to appear in the process of preliminary written examination, main examination and interview. To get a job through any exam one has to complete the selection process.

Indian Revenue Officer (IRS) option will have to be selected in UPSC

If the candidate wants to become an Income Tax Officer through UPSC exam, then they have to clear all the levels of UPSC exam and have to opt for Indian Revenue Officer (IRS).

Qualification required to become an Income Tax Officer

To become an Income Tax Officer, candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. He should be a citizen of India. After this one can apply for UPSC or SSC CGL exam. Candidates applying for SSC CGL must be between 17 to 30 years of age. In this, the maximum age of reserved category candidates can be 33 years. At the same time, candidates of 21 to 32 years can apply for UPSC exam. In this, the maximum age of reserved category candidates can be 37 years.
