Income Tax Refund: The Income Tax Department has so far issued a refund of Rs 1,19,093 crore. Here is the information about checking the status.
Income Tax Refund: The Income Tax Department has refunded more than Rs 1,19,093 crore to more than 1.02 crore taxpayers till November 15 in the current financial year (2021-22). This figure is for refunds made between 1 April 2021 and 15 November 2021. Of this, personal income tax refund was Rs 38,034 crore, while that of corporates was Rs 81,059 crore.
The Income Tax Department tweeted that ‘CBDT has refunded more than Rs 1,19,093 crore to more than 1.02 crore taxpayers between April 1, 2021 and November 15, 2021. In 1,00, income tax refund of Rs 38,034 crore has been issued. In 1,80,407 cases, 42,619 cases and Rs 81,059 crore corporate tax refund have been issued.
Significantly, in the last financial year 2020-21, the Income Tax Department had issued tax refunds of Rs 2.62 lakh crore to 2.38 crore taxpayers. This was 43.2 percent more than the refund of Rs 1.83 lakh crore issued in the financial year 2019-20.
Check refund status from the new website of Income Tax Department-
- First of all you have to go to the website www.incometax.gov.in.
- Enter User ID and Password.
- After logging in, you will see the option of e-filing.
- Now select Income Tax Returns.
- After that click on View File Return.
- Now your ITR details will be shown.
