Income Tax Return News: The last date for filing Income Tax Return (ITR File) is December 31, 2021. If you haven’t filed your tax return yet, do so immediately. You can also file ITR online yourself. Income Tax Department has launched a new Income Tax Portal. You can easily file returns on this portal.
Income tax return can be filed in many ways. You can file returns offline. Or the return can also be filed online sitting at home. For offline ITR filing, you can submit the return by downloading the form from the Income Tax Department’s website www.incometax.gov.in.
- To file your return online, login to the e-filing portal and submit your return online. Only ITR-1 (ITR-1) and ITR-4 (ITR-4) can be filed in online mode.
- To file your return online, first you have to visit the official website of Income Tax Department www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Here now under the e-file menu, select Income Tax Return.
- Here the PAN card number will be entered first. Now select your assessment year, ITR form number, filing type (original or revised return) and submission mode. Now choose the reason why you want ITR and fill the required requirements.
- After checking the form properly, click on submit.
- E-verification of ITR has to be done. If you have selected the option “I would like to e-Verify”, then fill the Aadhaar OTP received on the mobile number registered with the Aadhaar regulator UIDAI. Fill the EVC received on the registered mobile number.
- If you have selected the second option “E-verify later” then ITR will be submitted but it will not be verified.
- If you have selected the third option “I don’t want to e-verify”, then you can either go to My Account and click on E-Verify Return to e-verify, or sign it and send it to Bangalore.
