The US has said that it is closely monitoring the situation of this ongoing tension along the Ladakh border.
Speaking to news agency ANI, a spokesman for the US State Department has said that we are closely monitoring the situation of tension between the forces of India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The Indian Army had issued a statement yesterday saying that 20 soldiers have been martyred near Galvan Valley, we express condolences to their families.
A US State Department spokesman has said that both India and China have expressed a desire to de-escalate and we support a peaceful resolution of the current situation. He said that during their telephonic conversation on 2 June, President Trump and PM Modi discussed the situation along the India-China border.

Meanwhile, according to the US media, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has emboldened Bharti by engaging in a face-to-face battle with Indian Army soldiers. The violent clashes in the late evening and night of June 15 were a result of Chinese troops attempting to unilaterally change the status quo during de-escalation. An opinion piece in the Washington Examiner states that 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a violent clash with the People’s Liberation Army of China.

Events
A contingent of 16 Bihar regiments went on the spot to comply with patrolling point 14 of the patrol agreement.
According to the agreement, the Chinese contingent was to return to the post No.1, five kilometers from the present position.
The retreating Chinese soldiers took advantage of the darkness at dusk and overturned and attacked the Indian contingent which was immediately behind them.
Chinese soldiers badly injured Indian commanding officer Santosh Babu and two soldiers by hitting rad and poles.
Seeing the bloodshed of their commanding officers and comrades, Indian soldiers launched a fierce attack on the Chinese soldiers.
Rad, poles, kick and punches were used in this bloody struggle for hours, but not a single shot was fired.
When the conflict broke out in the midnight, a large number of people from both sides were killed.
