Soldiers who could not get compensation for the quarter will now be given
Indian Army: The government has made a rule for the three army soldiers. In which the jawans who live on rent can take house allowance under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme – MACPS based on rank. Actually, due to some disturbance in the sixth pay commission, the soldiers were not getting the benefit. From January 2006 to June 2017, the soldiers could not get the compensation for the quarter for 11 years (Claim in Lieu of Quarter – CILQ). Now soldiers can claim compensation from June 2006 to June 2017 to avail this benefit.
According to media reports, the government has issued an order on this. This system will be considered applicable from the year 2006. In such a situation, it has been said that the army personnel are expected to get a profit of about Rs 1,000 crore.
Let me tell you that from the year 2006, when the sixth pay commission came into force, due to some irregularities in the Indian Army soldiers could not get compensation (CILQ) instead of quarter. Because only a few allowances received on the basis of salary were mentioned in the official letter. It did not mention CILQ which was upgraded as salary was upgraded, ie it was linked to salary. However, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy soldiers continued to get it. But the Indian Army was not getting its benefits.
The government linked it to the HRA in the seventh pay commission. That is, from 1 July 2017, HRA started replacing CILQ. But thousands of soldiers could not get CILQ from 2006 to 30 June 2017. An ex-soldier Bhupendra Singh raised the matter with the AFT and the tribunal ruled that the Indian Army soldiers be given the upgraded CILQ. After this, in the first week of this month, the government also issued an order in this regard. Now Indian Army soldiers can claim CILQ between 2006 and 30 June 2017.
