Indian employees fired: This company has laid off about 700 employees from its Mysore campus. They were hired just six months ago. NITES has called it unethical.

Infosys Layoff: Infosys, a big company in the IT sector in India, has fired about 700 freshers from its Mysore campus. Giving this information on Friday, the IT employees union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (nites) argued that these freshers are being fired just a few months after joining the company.

The company left in just 6 months

Waiting for two long years after graduation and finally getting a chance to work with Infosys in September 2024 and now losing it in just six months is no less than a shock for the freshers of the company. Workers are worried about how they will inform their families about this news.

NITES placed its demand before the Ministry of Labor

NITES President Harpreet Singh Saluja said in a statement, “This is shocking and unethical. Infosys has started sacking around 700 campus recruits, even though they were hired just a few months ago.”

Let us tell you that Harpreet has written a letter to the Labor Minister and has made three demands-

  • The matter should be further investigated and strict punitive action should be taken against Infosys for violating the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
  • Further layoffs should be halted until the legal investigation is complete.
  • Demand for reinstatement of all dismissed employees with compensation.

NITES made this allegation on Infosys

NITES has alleged that the company also deployed bouncers and security guards to intimidate employees during the termination process. There is an uproar on social media about this. A user vented his anger on X and wrote, “This is heartbreaking. After receiving their offer letters from Infosys, these freshers waited for 2-2.5 years and finally joined the company in September 2024. Now after just six months, 700 of these people have been fired from the company. There will be many of them who might have refused any other job for this offer so that they have to see this day. ”
