After Thailand and Sri Lanka, now India has got a big gift from another country. Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that from December 1, 2023, entry visa will not be required for Indian citizens.
Visa free for 30 days
Malaysia wants to promote its tourism industry. The largest share of tourists in Malaysia from all over the world are Indians and Chinese people. Speaking at his People’s Justice Party’s annual congress in Putrajaya on Sunday, Anwar Ibrahim said Indian citizens can stay in Malaysia visa-free for 30 days. He further said that it will be subject to security screening.
Malaysia relies on tourists for economic development
Malaysia is counting on additional tourists and their spending to support economic growth. Anwar had last month announced plans to improve visa facilities next year to encourage entry of tourists and investors, especially from India and China.
Thailand
Last month, Thailand also announced that the government will allow visa-free entry for tourists from India and Taiwan for a period of six months from November 10 this year to May 10, 2024.
Sri Lanka
The Cabinet of Sri Lanka has approved issuing free visas to people of India, China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand till 31 March 2024 as a pilot project.
vietnam
Vietnam is now considering visa free entry for India and China. As of now, citizens of Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Finland can travel to Vietnam without a visa. And for the rest of the countries, it is offering e-visa for all individuals with 90 days validity and multiple entry.
