Indian Passport Holders: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the facility of visa-on-arrival for Indian citizens. Now Indian passengers with ordinary passports can get this visa by reaching any entry point of UAE. This new initiative of UAE is another step towards making travel easier for Indian citizens. In February 2023, Emirates Airlines in collaboration with VFS Global launched a pre-approved visa-on-arrival service for Indian passengers. This helped passengers avoid long queues on reaching Dubai.

Visa Options: Under this facility, Indian passengers will have two options:

14-day visa, which can be extended for 14 days.

60-day visa, which cannot be extended.

For both these visa options, passengers will have to pay the fixed charge as per the rules of UAE.

Eligibility: However, this facility is only for Indian citizens who hold a Permanent Resident Card, Green Card or a valid visa from the United States, United Kingdom or any European Union country.

Passport Validity: Passengers’ passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the UAE.

Dubai was earlier offering multiple entry

Apart from this, Dubai had also introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa for Indian citizens to promote trade and tourism. India remains the largest source of tourism for the UAE, especially Dubai. The number of Indian tourists visiting Dubai increased by 25% in 2023, making it Dubai’s largest tourism market.
