Indian Railways News- If you also travel by train, then let me tell you that traveling by rail can now cost you dearly. Actually, the Railways is now preparing to charge Station Development Charge (SDF).
Now you will have to pay extra charges in the name of boarding the station. According to the Railways, this fee will be different for passengers from different classes. Suburban and season tickets have been kept separate from this. Railways will collect this charge in the name of passenger convenience and development fee. This will also be taken for the station which is to be redeveloped. Explain that the railways will charge this fee from every passenger traveling by train.
Know how much will be charged
According to the guide line issued by the Ministry of Railways, an additional fee of Rs 10 to Rs 50 will have to be paid to sit in the train from the station. This user fee will be in three categories. ₹ 50 for AC class, ₹ 25 for sleeper class and ₹ 10 for unreserved class will have to be paid extra. Passengers will not have to pay the fee separately. This charge will be taken at the time of ticketing only. The Railway Board has approved this plan and the Railway Ministry has fixed its charge.
Platform ticket will also be expensive.
If this scheme is implemented, then platform ticket will also cost ₹ 10 extra. GST will also have to be paid on this. However, this fee will be collected from the passengers only after the new development of railway stations is completed. However, it is not yet clear when this scheme will be implemented. Railway officials said that the imposition of SDF will ensure revenue and help in raising funds for the renewed development of railway stations. Explain that various railway stations are being redeveloped to provide modern facilities. Rani Kamalapati station of West Central Railway and Gandhinagar Rajdhani station of Western Railway have been developed.
