Due to this facility, women traveling with newborn children will be greatly helped. Women can make children sleep in it during the journey. Railway has started a pilot project for passengers traveling with babies from 10th May i.e. today.
Pilot Project in Lucknow Mail
It is the effort of the Railways to make the journey of women traveling with a newborn more comfortable. For this, the Railways has installed a foldable “baby berth” on the side of the lower main berth of Lucknow Mail under a pilot project.
The Ministry of Railways has also shared the picture of the baby birth. Please tell that this berth is attached to the lowest seat of the train. It can also be folded. Also, a belt has also been given to ensure that the child does not fall.
Know about baby birth
A baby berth has been introduced in Lucknow Mail at berth number 12 and 60, so that the mother can travel with her child. It has a length of 770 mm, width of 255 mm. A Northern Railway official said that it will be expanded after receiving positive response from passengers.
Railways has told that it will also be booked in the same way as elderly passengers do for booking for their lower seat. During the booking option, the passenger tells about traveling with his child. After this the seat will be allotted to that passenger along with the baby berth.
