After the introduction of this railway facility, now you will not have to wander for the hotel after getting off the train at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). A pod hotel is being built at CSMT in South Mumbai. The Pod Hotel is expected to open to the public at the end of June. This information was given by the officials of Central Railway (CR).
Pod hotel to be built near waiting room
This will be the second such facility from the Indian Railways in Mumbai metropolis. Earlier on 17 November 2021, a pod hotel was opened for passengers at Mumbai Central Railway Station of Western Railway. On Wednesday, it was told by the officials that the Pod Hotel will be built near the waiting room on the main line of CSMT.
Separate wash room facility
This pod hotel, which will be built on the main line of CSMT, will have an arrangement for 50 people to stay at a time. He told that this hotel will have four family pods and 30 single pods with arrangement for two people to stay. Apart from separate wash rooms and bath rooms for men and women, the facility will also have a room for luggage storage of passengers.
The rent is too low
Central Railway’s PRO Shivaji Sutar said, ‘Railways will get revenue of Rs 55.68 lakh from this.’ He told that the work of this hotel has been done to a great extent and it is expected to be opened for the passengers by the end of June. Let us tell you that the rent of a single room found in Pod Hotel is also much less than that of a traditional hotel. This will save both time and money of the passengers.
What are pod hotels
The Pod Hotel, which is to be started by the end of this month by the Central Railway, has many small bed-sized rooms. These are also called capsule hotels. Some people also call it a single private room. Here the basic facilities of the traveler like rest and refreshment are there. Pod hotels have rooms like the cockpit of an aircraft. The Capsule Hotel has only sleeping facilities. Wash room and bath room are private.
