Cancellation charge is levied on canceling train ticket

This much is charged for canceling railway tickets before 48 hours
- AC First Class/Executive Class – Rs 240
- AC 2 Tier/First Class – Rs 200
- AC 3 Tier/AC Chair Car/AC3 Economy- Rs 180
- Sleeper Class – Rs 120
- Second Class – Rs 60
48 hours to less than 12 hours
If a confirmed ticket is canceled between 48 hours to 12 hours of train journey, 25% of the total train ticket plus minimum flat rate will be charged. If the confirmed ticket is canceled in less than 12 hours, 50 percent ticket refund is available.
When is a refund for canceled train ticket not available?
If your ticket is confirmed and the journey is suddenly cancelled, then you will have to keep in mind the rules of ticket cancellation charge. Here timing is important to cancel train tickets. If the ticket is confirmed and is not canceled before 4 hours of the scheduled departure time of the train, then refund will not be given. If you cancel your train ticket after the chart has been prepared, you will not get a refund. Similarly, refund will not be given even if confirmed Tatkal ticket is cancelled. Waiting list and rules for refund of RAC train tickets
If your ticket is still in RAC and waiting list even after charting. You cancel your ticket 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the train.
