Indian Railways has issued an order allowing travel without reservation. Till now travel cannot be done without reservation. This order of Railways will benefit crores of railway passengers. For this, orders have been issued by Vipul Singhal, Director, Passenger Marketing, Railway Board.
Issuing an order, the Railways had made it necessary to make reservations for travel in general coaches during the Corona period. Taking back this earlier order on February 28, it has been approved to travel in all general coaches without reservation. Now a technical patch has been stuck in this order. The railways has not been able to decide whether the passengers who have booked tickets by paying a higher price in the past, will be refunded or not. Not only this, even after the order, reservation has to be made for taking second class ticket from online to ticket window.
Railway out of Corona period
Railway Board’s Passenger Marketing Director Vipul Singhal issued an order pleasing the passengers on 28 February. In this order it has been written that the railway has come out of the Corona period. Coming out of this period, all passenger trains have run normally. In such a situation, now the freedom to travel without reservation in all normal coaches is given as before.
Only date not mentioned
The order has been issued, but it has not been mentioned in the entire order from which date it will come into force. In such a situation, till a day after the issuance of the order, from the reservation counter to the online software, passengers have to make reservations for normal tickets as well.
This situation will remain till June
According to Railway’s technical affairs expert Ravi Verma, it is clearly written in the order that it will be valid from when the date of reservation is expiring. In such a situation, according to the order issued on February 28, from March to June, the reservation is going on for 120 days. The issued orders will probably come into effect from July 1.
Waiting for order
Information has been received about abolishing the requirement of reservation in second seating. At present, the official order is awaited. Only then can anything be said.
