Compensation can be given if luggage is stolen during the journey

According to the order of the Supreme Court, if any of your belongings is stolen during the journey, then you can take compensation from the railways. For this, you also have to give a form to the Railway Police along with the FIR, in which it is mentioned that if the goods are not received within 6 months, then you can also go to the consumer forum to compensate the loss. After estimating the cost of the goods, the forum orders the railways to compensate. The important rule in this is that the GRP should get the passenger filled in the consumer forum form as soon as the FIR is registered.

Children below 18 years of age will not be fined

According to an order of the Ministry of Railways, if any child below 18 years of age is caught traveling without a ticket in a train, then the ticket checking staff will not charge a fine, but will only collect the fare. It has also been told in this rule that if action is to be taken against such child, then first report has to be prepared and only then action can be taken.

These are the rules for waiting tickets

According to a railway rule, if a passenger has an online waiting ticket, it is automatically canceled and you will not be able to travel. Traveling with a waiting ticket will attract a fine of at least Rs 250 plus the full fare and TTE can also drop off from the next station.

Traveling in upper class compartment will have to be fined

If you do not have a ticket while traveling in a train or if you do not have a ticket according to the class in which you are traveling, then you can be punished under section 138 of the Railway Act. Under this section, you will be charged the fixed simple fare from the railway for the distance traveled or the fixed simple fare for the distance traveled from the station from where the train has left and a penalty of Rs 250. Also, if you have a lower class ticket, then the difference in fare will also be charged from you.

Can be sued for tampering with tickets

If a passenger is traveling by tampering with the ticket or any other kind of fraud, then he will be prosecuted under section 137 of the Railway Act. In this, the passenger can be jailed for six months, fined 1000 rupees or both.

There will be punishment for selling goods in railway premises

Unauthorized hawking or selling of goods in railway premises can lead to action under section 144 of the Railway Act. There is a provision of imprisonment of one year, fine ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 or both.

Traveling on the roof of the train may attract fine

If a passenger is caught traveling on the roof of a train, he will be punished under section 156 of the Railway Act. Under this, imprisonment of 3 months or fine of Rs 500 or both can be imposed.

Poster pasting in railway premises may be costly

According to a railway rule, if any person pastes a poster in the railway premises or on the train, then action will be taken against him under section 166 (b) of the Railway Act. Under this, imprisonment of 6 months or fine of Rs 500 or both can be given.

Jail for brokering railway ticket

Apart from this, action will be taken under Section 143 of the Railway Act for ticket brokering or selling tickets illegally by the Railways. It can carry a prison sentence of 3 years. Apart from this, a fine of 10 thousand rupees or both can also be given.

Money will be returned after the end of the journey before the destination

If your train is terminated before your destination due to any natural calamity or any other problem, then there is an alternate arrangement for this, through which you can claim for the money.
