If the train is cancelled, then the passengers can get the ticket money back. Passengers who have booked e-tickets from IRCTC website do not need to do anything for ticket refund. In case of train cancellation, the refund will be credited to the customer’s bank account/credit card/e-wallet from which the payment has been made. Tickets purchased from the reservation counter can be canceled up to 72 hours after the scheduled departure of the train at the computerized reservation counter. If the passenger cancels the ticket on his own, IRCTC deducts some cancellation charges from the refund.
