According to the information given by the Indian Railways, after the notification of the Uttar Pradesh government, the railway has changed the code of Jhansi railway station in its computer system. Earlier the code of Jhansi railway station was ‘JHS’. For some time, the names of railway stations have also been changed in many states including Uttar Pradesh.
Names of many railway stations changed
In Uttar Pradesh, the government had changed the names of many big railway stations. The state government first changed the name of Mughalsarai railway station from the central government to Deendayal Upadhyay station. At the same time, the name of Manduadih station was changed to ‘Banaras Junction’. After this, the world famous Allahabad Junction for Kumbh and Maa Ganga was also renamed as Prayagraj Junction.
Just a few days ago, the name of Faizabad Junction has been changed to Ayodhya Cantt. Now the name of another station has been added to this list. According to the information given by PTI, ‘VGLB’ code will have to be entered in place of ‘JHS’ code for booking railway ticket to Jhansi. Actually, after changing the name of Jhansi Railway Station to Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station, its station code has also changed.
Shivam Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway (NCR) in Prayagraj told PTI that following the notification of the Uttar Pradesh government, the railways has changed the code of Jhansi railway station in its computer system. Earlier the code of Jhansi railway station was ‘JHS’. Now after changing the name to Veerangana Laxmibai Railway Station, its code has been changed to ‘VGLB’. He said that now you have to enter the ‘VGLB’ code to book the train ticket of Jhansi. It is worth noting that the Uttar Pradesh government had already issued a notification in this regard.
