New Delhi. After improving the situation due to Coronavirus, where the Railways is engaged in the exercise of running trains with full strength. At the same time, it is giving full emphasis on the checking of passengers traveling in trains. Campaigns are being run to curb ticketless passengers in trains.

A special ticket checking campaign was run by North Western Railway in the month of November, under which a total fine amounting to more than 6.62 crores has been recovered. This amount is the highest in ten years, setting a record in itself.

On the directions of Vijay Sharma, General Manager, North Western Railway, an intensive campaign of special ticket checking was conducted in the four divisions in the month of November. In this, 1,24,523 passengers were caught traveling without tickets in a special operation by the TC / TTE and the employees of the Chief Commercial Manager Squad of the four divisions. 6 crore 62 lakh 314 rupees have been recovered as fine imposed on all these. This is the best figure on North Western Railway in the last ten years in terms of ticketless travel cases and rail revenue.

CPRO Captain Shashi Kiran said that this achievement has been achieved by putting more effort on the passengers traveling without tickets in ticket checking. From time to time, ticket checking campaigns are run by the railway administration so that people can stop other illegal travel methods including traveling without tickets.
