New system of ticket booking from IRCTC
IRCTC has now made preparations to change the process of ticket booking. Next time you go to book a single railway ticket online, IRCTC may also ask you for PAN, Aadhaar or passport information. In fact, IRCTC is going to take these steps to exclude railway ticket brokers from the system of ticket booking. IRCTC is working fast on a new system, in which you have to link your Aadhaar-PAN. To book train tickets through IRCTC website or app, you may have to enter Aadhaar, PAN or Passport number when you log in.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) Director General Arun Kumar said that the Railways is working on a plan to link identity documents with IRCTC. He said that earlier the action against fraud was based on human intelligence, but the effect was not enough. Finally we have decided to link it with PAN, Aadhaar or other identity documents while logging in for the ticket. With this we can stop the fraud of booking tickets.

‘The system will start soon’
Arun Kumar told that we first need to create a network. Our work with the Aadhar authority is almost done. As soon as the whole system is ready to work. We will start using it by implementing it. Arun Kumar informed that the action against the touts was started in October and November in 2019, since then 14,257 touts have been arrested. So far, fake tickets worth 28.34 crores have been caught.

Arun Kumar said that Rail Suraksha App has been developed where complaints related to these matters can be made. There is also a plan to install CCTV cameras at 6049 stations and all passenger train coaches, he said.
