POS machines have been installed at the reservation counters located at many stations including the major railway stations of Bhopal Railway Division, including Harda, Itarsi, Hoshangabad, Rani Kamalapati, Bhopal.

On this side railway passengers have got a big relief. Along with this, passengers are getting 5% discount on the basic fare on making digital payment.
According to railway officials, Bhopal Railway Division has set up major railway stations of the division at Harda, Itarsi, Hoshangabad, Rani Kamalapati, Bhopal, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Vidisha, Ganjbasoda, Bina, Ashoknagar, Guna, Shivpuri to promote cashless payment. POS machines have been installed at the reservation counters to make payment of reservation tickets along with platform tickets. Through these machines, passengers can pay for platform and reservation tickets through debit/credit cards.
Railways made this appeal to passengers
Reservation ticket payment can also be done through UPI at all reservation offices and windows of the division. There will be a discount of 5 percent on the basic fare on payment through UPI. Railways has appealed to passengers to avoid making cash payments while buying platform tickets and reservation tickets. Make maximum use of POS machines and UPI channels available at the counters for payment. By using this facility, the passenger will be freed from the hassle of keeping cash with him, as well as it will also help in avoiding Covid infection.
Budget approved for Gwalior-Sheopur-Kota broad gauge rail line
On the other hand, recently in the Union Budget of 2022-23, Gwalior also got a big gift for the railway project. In the Union Budget, the government approved Rs 700 crore for the Gwalior-Sheopur-Kota broad gauge rail line. After getting this budget, the remaining work of rail line between Sabalgarh and Sheopur will be completed. At the same time, the work of laying a new line between Sheopur and Kota will also be started. In the budget, Rs 800 crore has also been approved for the 273 km long third line between Mathura and Jhansi. With this, the detail estimate has been approved for laying the fourth line between Dholpur-Jhansi-Bina. An amount of Rs 4,870 crore has been approved for this project.
