The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is seen in an active role in reducing the increasing pressure. The government is trying to make sure that with no financial pressure on the railways, they have enough.
This service has been stopped since 2 years
Talking about the time of Kovid epidemic, seeing the poor financial condition, railways had stopped concession in fare for all after leaving three categories, in which senior citizens have also been included.
However, no clarity has been given about when this facility is going to be restored. But seeing the way the pressure from the senior citizens is increasing, it is expected that a decision will be taken on it soon. At present, the number of senior citizens in the country has reached about 14 crores.
