IRCTC News: The recommendation of IRCTC has been implemented after two years. After this, food items will become expensive in all trains including Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto.
IRCTC News: Amidst rising inflation, IRCTC has also given a shock to the passengers traveling by rail. In fact, the Railway Board has implemented the recommendation of IRCTC after two years. After this, now the prices of food items found in the rail train have increased. Apart from this, if you are doing any journey from one place to another like Patna to Delhi or Patna to Lucknow, then the charges of prepaid catering service of VIP trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto have also become expensive for you.
IRCTC’s demand approved
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was given the authority to fix the catering fee by the Railway Board on 21 February 2019. Under this, the Menu and Tariff Committee was constituted. On the demand of IRCTC, the Railway Board had ordered to implement the new price on 14 November 2019. Which was to be implemented from March 2020 but due to the complete lockdown, the new rate could not be implemented. Now from December 1, the railways has started other trains including Shatabdi and it has been added to the fare of passengers.
This is the new rate
After the implementation of the new rate, now the morning tea in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto chair car, AC 3 and AC 2 has become Rs 20, breakfast Rs 120, lunch or dinner Rs 185 and evening tea has become Rs 90. On the other hand, in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto Executive and AC 1, morning tea has become Rs 35, breakfast is Rs 140, lunch or dinner is Rs 245 and evening tea has become Rs 140. Whereas in sleeper class of Duronto train, morning tea has become Rs 15, breakfast is Rs 65, lunch or dinner is Rs 120 and evening tea has become Rs 50.
